The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George

Published by Abacus for £8.99

It is no secret that I love books about bookshops and this one is particularly delightful.  Jean Perdu is gifted at choosing just the right book for his customers, whether to lift their spirits or to open their eyes to new possibilities.  Unfortunately, he is rather less good at dealing with his own problems and it takes an unforeseen encounter to push him into unmooring his floating bookshop to set off to discover what has become of his lost love.  This is a story – both literally and figuratively – about a journey from darkness into light.  I read it over  a dark and dreary weekend and it cheered me up immensely.
